Storytelling Tracks and Reality Bends in Hamoud Hamad Shakili's novel One Cry Is Not Enough

This research examines the dynamic dichotomy between form (storytelling paths) and content (reality bends), in a contemporary Omani novel within its local and Arab context, which is (one cry is not enough) by the novelist Hamoud Hamad al-Shakili To reveal the mechanisms of operation of the narrative/storytelling text and the modalities of its formation of reality Relying on the formative structural approach by relying on the duality of narrator (character) and anecdote To be an analytical input to the novel in the approach of the political and social reality in Arab society in general, and Omani society in particular at the level of discourse, and dismantle its multiple narrative paths, and its relationship to the formation of reality, expression, and criticism, which overlaps the life of the character of the simple hero (Ahmed) gas cylinder vendor with major events in contemporary reality. The main storytelling in the novel revolves around the character of Ahmed El-Baseel, who moves from his village to the capital Muscat In search of a living, beaten for belonging to a secret organization The novel's trajectory shifts from an everyday social tale to an approach to Omani political realities, carrying surprising narrative possibilities to issues that can be told accordingly.
The research concluded with several results, the most important of which is that the novel succeeded in approaching the political and social reality in Arab society in general, and Omani society in particular, and expressing it and criticizing it at the level of discourse more than at the level of the story.
